Food For Life Baking Co. originated in Glendale, California in the back of a small neighborhood natural foods store known as Foods For Life Natural Foods in 1964. Today, after more than three generations and over 60 different bread products, Food For Life remains a family-owned enterprise and still maintains the original baking techniques used to make truly authentic flavorful sprouted grain breads; plus the foresight and intuition to pioneer other naturally crafted specialty baked goods such as world famous Ezekiel 4:9® Bread. All Food For Life bakery products are made from the finest natural ingredients to provide optimum nutrition and maximum taste.
Gary Torres, a Food For Life company principal, says the idea to develop sprouted grain bread and pasta was inspired by the Scripture. The verse, included in the title of all their sprouted grain products, is Ezekiel 4:9:

"Take also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it."
