For Easy Super Bowl Snacks, Think Pulled and Sloppy
Monday January 31, 2011
Maybe you want to spend the entire Super Bowl fussing in the kitchen, but not me. I'd rather be spending time with my guests, and by "spending time," I mean eating and drinking. So, the less high-maintenance the food, the better.
Two recipes that can help with this situation are pulled pork and sloppy Joe's. You can make them way ahead of time, keep them warm in a chafing dish or crock pot, and set them next a try of mini hamburger buns (aka split dinner rolls).Your guests can help themselves to these casual American classics with very little effort on your part. Everyone wins, except for one of the teams (and hopefully not the one you bet on!)

Better Breasts Through Brining
Friday January 28, 2011
You'll be amazed how moist your boneless-skinless chicken breasts are when you give them a little soak in this brine before cooking. Basically, brining raises the internal temperature at which moisture is squeezed out of the meat, resulting in much juicier piece of chicken. Give it a try and see!

Sorry Buffalo Chicken Wings, I've Met Someone Else
Wednesday January 26, 2011
I'm sorry Buffalo chicken wings, but we can't do this anymore. We had a great run, but I need something new. Hey, I'll always love your fiery personality and lovely skin. We had a lot of fun - remember that trip to Niagara Falls? Good times. It's not you, it's me. I've been seduced by a southern beauty - a sweet, hot mustard-glazed chicken wing recipe that I met in a sports bar. It was love at first bite. Please don't be angry, you'll find someone else. In fact, I know a nice blue cheese dressing - maybe we can double date?
